The Different Types Of Skip Bin Hire

by Gwendolyn Washington

Skip bins are used by virtually every Australian at some point in their life, and for many people getting skip bin contractors on the phone to bring around another bin for them is a regular occurrence. What you should know, if you are new to hiring skip bins, is that not every single type of skip bin is the same, nor are the companies. Ensuring that you have the right skip bin for your needs is essential before signing a contract or arranging for a drop-off. Here are a few different types of skip bin hire that you need to know about.

Commercial Skip Bin Hire

If you run a business, most skip bins will prefer you to use their commercial service, which often have skip bins that are stronger, more reinforced and are picked up and emptied more regularly. These are often seen on construction sites, where they will take away all the broken bricks, leftover concrete, chipped nails and broken tools. These commercial skip bins might cost a bit more, but you get a more business-like relationship with pick-ups according to your needs and a wider range of materials that you can dispose of, such as more industrial waste and the like.

Landscaping Skip Bin Hire

Australian's love to work out in their yard and to try and make them look as neat and tidy as possible. It is very easy to end up having hundreds of kilograms of dirt, clay, compost, mulch and even woodchips leftover from your annual big clean-up, and some people even take apart trees and shrubbery that they have nowhere else to put but in the skip bin. A lot of skip bin hire places offer more specialized landscaping skip bins, which they can recycle the items in more easily rather than just sending them to landfill, which not only helps you but the planet as well!

General Waste

If you are moving out of your home or simply have a big clean-up that you want to do in the near future, then you can simply hire a general waste skip bin. These take everything you can think of, from furniture to food scraps and everything in between. Just make sure that you don't put any toxic chemicals in them (such as paint) or anything particularly dangerous (like asbestos) and you should be fine. These come in many different sizes, so make sure to find one that has the capacity to take the load you know you will have built up.
